Not only is it wonderfully organized with a designated section for starters, entrees, and desserts, but there are also numerous vegetarian recipes scattered throughout it, making this book for literally every type of chef.

While there are other books on the market like Yo Sushi’s, it’s Dekura’s book that really stands out from the crowd. With magnificent photographs, it inspires with a simple page flick and, unlike its contemporaries, has clear and simple instructions. A must for any sushi fan and makes a great gift too.

It was published recently and it plunges you directly into the vibrant and tasty world of Mexican street food. One thing that did surprise me was the breakfast section, and I must admit that I have completely become a Mexican way of eating in the mornings. Filled with beautiful images and written in an accessible and friendly way, this book does exactly what the title says and brings Mexican food right into your kitchen. Clearly, Miers has done the research necessary for such an exquisite book, and the information on Mexican chili peppers is invaluable. An excellent book for preparing meals for friends and a great equivalent to barbecue parties.

The book is beautifully presented (like all of Jaime’s books) and has wonderful pictures of his travels along with the incredible images of his food. Each country has an introductory paragraph that explains the culture and food it came into contact with, and then, in very simple language and an always friendly tone, Jaime guides you through a variety of dishes. From light bites like patatas bravas to more complex dishes like steak tartare, Jaime’s tone never condescends you as an amateur chef. Not only does this book provide great enjoyment as a teaching tool, but it’s also good to flick through it every now and then to take in the location shots of your food journey. Overall, a well deserved winner of this Best Cookbook list. Absolutely delicious!

There are plenty of other brilliant cookbooks for beginners, like Sophie Grigson’s The Student Cookbook. This is great for hobby chefs who simply don’t have the time to cook elaborate meals every day and are looking for recipes for both the royal kitchen and the convenience kitchen. Then for the more adventurous chefs who are willing to be inventive and scientific in the kitchen, there’s Heston Bluementhal’s brilliant book The Fat Duck Cookbook, which combines vivid illustrations and quirky recipes for a truly excellent culinary experience. Overall, the ten books that make up this best cookbook list offer a friendly, easy-to-follow guide that allows you to not only enjoy them as books, but also enjoy them as learning tools that will one day make you the king of cooking. kitchen.
