All of these names are synonymous with success, fame, incredible abilities and skills, and the insane amounts of money they make doing what they do. All of these personalities have something that they are well known for, something in which they are achieving great success. These 5 guys decided one day as adults that they would be great or they were just born great, right? Of course not!

Website design By BotEap.comIf you haven’t figured out where I’m going with the details above, I’m about to reveal it to you. Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Bill Gates, Michael Phelps, and Donald Trump started at different times in their lives. They all do very different things, but none of them achieved the level they are today overnight. It’s called practice. Why do we expect athletes to practice to improve and stay on top? Why do many of us in business seem to fly down the seat of our pants? We should be practicing too!

Website design By BotEap.comWhether it’s putting up, shooting, swimming, creating new shows, or negotiating real estate deals, it all takes practice, and a lot! Think about where you would like to be in your real estate career in 5 years. Think about what it will take to get there. Think about your first deal, or if you haven’t closed a deal yet, think about your first interaction with a customer. Was it a perfect experience? Were you able to answer questions with confidence and precision? Was it a complete disaster? It has improved?

Website design By BotEap.comWhatever your results, there were probably a lot of things you could have done differently. In fact, even with 9 years of real estate experience in various areas of the business and tons of training, I often have to search for a book or search online. Sometimes I have to tell a client that I will contact them with an answer to their question. I have recently started using some online resources much more effectively and am saving an incredible amount of time and effort. With practice, we gain confidence, increase our skills, work more diligently, negotiate better, reduce liability risks, earn more money, etc. Practice Makes … Business Success!

Website design By BotEap.comThe next time you’re working on a deal and following your routine, think about what you could do to make part of your transaction easier. Then create a quick little plan to make that change. Then practice it! Bring your elbow in slightly, spread your fingers a bit more, line the ball up with the hoop, and shoot … as many times as necessary.
