Five strange reasons to murder

Website design By BotEap.comAs a mystery writer, I am always thinking of strange motives for murder. There are many reasons to kill people. Some are acceptable; say, self defense. Others, like war, are debated. And then there are the ones that are just plain weird, weird, that border on being excessively … weird. Why?

Website design By BotEap.comReading the news is proof enough that we are not as sane as we think. There are daily stories about mounting problems, violent actions, overreactions, and just shit hitting the fan … for the police to fix.

Website design By BotEap.comHere are some examples of strange motives for murder:

  1. Website design By BotEap.comSerial killers
Website design By BotEap.comHannibal, Jack the Ripper and other psychopaths come to mind. These guys are systematic with their operation; basically ordinary men or women who have developed a rather dangerous fascination with murder; and they do it excellently.

Website design By BotEap.comThe characteristics of the victims they target can range from age to hair color, or anything in between. Even among murderers and convicts, they are the ‘weird guys’ (I mean the weird guys among the weird guys).

Website design By BotEap.comSometimes they leave clues to experience a ‘chase thrill’ that turns them into interesting TV shows, books, and movies. Meanwhile, we unknown citizens go about our daily lives with that serial killer who could be our postman, driver, handyman or neighbor. Fortunately, we are not his type. Oddly enough.

  1. Website design By BotEap.comGang related
Website design By BotEap.comWhen you think about it, this is one of the most stupid and bizarre reasons to murder someone. Most of the time it comes down to revenge or the recovery of what has been taken; power struggles and basically alpha male rumors. Many gang-related murders happen because someone lives on the wrong side of town.

Website design By BotEap.comExpect; I mean, the reason they kill is because you live on the 14th and the other lives on the 88th. Well, if that’s not motivating enough to ‘put a cap on their butt’, I don’t know what it is.

Website design By BotEap.comThese are alpha males who have a problem with their masculinity or femininity, as the case may be; chilling with a beer in hand, looking for someone to incite them in some way, seekers of violence with an apparent hunger for altercations.

  1. Website design By BotEap.comRituals
Website design By BotEap.comYes, there are deadly rituals. Sigh. When we think of fatal rituals, we think of Jonestown, where preacher Jim Jones urged 600 of his followers to drink arsenic and commit suicide.

Website design By BotEap.comThis type of quasi-ritual of mass suicide was recorded in the history of mass death of the United States as a black mark in the free world; the grave was, in fact, a huge mass of waste.

  1. Website design By BotEap.comProtest
Website design By BotEap.comThe protests fall somewhere between stupid and brave. A couple of years ago, an Egyptian went to a job interview and didn’t get it. He used his last change to buy gas, wrote a suicide letter, and set himself on fire.

Website design By BotEap.comThis bizarre and bizarre act led to a nationwide protest that caused the president to resign and an effective revolution to take place. In cases like this, murder or suicide, as the case may be, is not just murder. It becomes an instrument for great change.
