Now it almost feels obscene to express joy or happiness.

Website design By BotEap.comThe truth of the matter is that happiness is a state of mind. You have the freedom to choose happiness; It’s as simple as that. The great things in life are often simple, dynamic, and creative.

Avoid regularly recurring thoughts that systematically sink into the subconscious mind and become habitual. Happiness is a habit.

As time went on, I found that this state was becoming less instinctive and I literally had to drag my thoughts and behavior away from what I didn’t want, to one of joy and happiness.

They long for the old depressed and unhappy state.

There is an expression that ‘misery loves company’, and there is a drive to bring others into this unholy alliance. There seems to be a peculiar morbid mental streak in many people, whereby they seem to enjoy being miserable, sad and unhappy.

Having this mental attitude first thing in the morning will certainly make you miserable. Worse yet, it leaves you unavailable and unprepared for the opportunities that come your way that day.

The thoughts that you normally entertain in your mind have a tendency to actualize into physical conditions. I am always amazed at how creative and productive I become when I take control of my thoughts and don’t allow them to run rampant and reckless; during which time I lose the ability to think intelligently.

However, we can all learn to manage difficult emotions, the key is to train our mind in compassion. Compassion for ourselves and other people can help heal our troubled minds and improve your well-being. Compassionate thinking is a skill, like learning to play an instrument, something that can be improved with dedicated practice.
