What is a Brazilian blowout?

Website design By BotEap.comThere is a new wave of hair straighteners on the market that are taking women all over the world by storm. This is called the Brazilian straightening process. Essentially what it is made of is pouring a chemical into women’s hair and then leaving the hair extremely straight through the use of heat. There are two versions of this straightening process. The first version of this is the most controversial, because it uses formaldehyde, which is a very toxic chemical that honestly shouldn’t have any use on a living person’s head. To put this in perspective, this is a chemical used for embalming liquid. Of course, embalming fluid is used to preserve the dead. Not only this, but this chemical is so toxic, that when this process was started, women had to wear military-grade gas masks to protect themselves from injury or death. Since no hairstyle is worth dying for, the Brazilians were wise enough to go back to the drawing board and created a hair strainer version that could produce the same results, without killing women in the process.

This is a chemical that is naturally found as part of the construction of hair and nails. This conditioner is placed on a woman’s hair and then rinsed off. The hair is then straightened with an iron that is extremely hot. A woman is told not to wash her hair for 72 hours while the chemical sets to straighten the hair. Not only this, but you can’t wear bobby pins, pigtails, or anything that will disrupt the straight hair texture.

The lower versions of the conditioning treatment actually contain the embalming fluid. Therefore, it is very important that a woman never buy a product that advertises that she can apply it at home. This is a process that should only be applied in a room and in particular, a room that is ventilated for this process, and a room that has been certified to apply this process safely. Even if the salon does not use a product that has embalming fluid in it, it still has chemicals that require a lot of ventilation for safety.

However, women should make sure their hair is in healthy condition even before putting it on. This is certainly not a process for those with bleached hair or certain other chemicals in their hair. A reputable hairdresser will help their client determine if this is the right process for them.
