I think perhaps more than any of these things, I find that Lina’s jewelry ignores the constraints of new and identifiable jewelry fashions, making her jewelry more like miniature carvings or objects that can simply be worn. .

Website design By BotEap.comOne of the main draws for me is his forward-thinking use of fabrics between each of his disparate technologically advanced textiles that instantly remove the connotations of labor and thus push the possibilities of textile design up a notch or two. With pieces like her svelte-looking Embroidered Brooch that employs gold-plated copper and finely stitched fabric or the Orange Collar that melds material with finished wood and beads, and the Collage Brooch that features foam, textiles, and dip-coated everything. metal in Citrus lemon yellow, Lina’s Jewelery draws a precise line between the fabrics more commonly associated with industrial processes and the fabrics largely forgotten in jewelry today.

Having achieved tremendous success at graduation, garnering the Association of New Contemporary Jewelery Designers Award, she was also a finalist at the Junior Jewelers Design, Goldsmiths craftsmanship and Design Awards, before honing her craftsmanship at the prestigious Royal College of Arts MA Course in Goldsmithing, Silversmithing, Metalwork and Jewellery.

Website design By BotEap.comSince graduating, Lina has held numerous teaching positions, including the Reach Out program at RCA, as well as splitting her time as a visiting lecturer at Farnham University of the Imaginative Arts, Glasgow School of Art and even as far afield as such as King Saud University & The Art & Skills Institute, in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
