The model has been sculpted to give the impression that this young man had feathers. Paleontologists believe that warm-blooded (endothermic) animals like Tyrant Saurus Rex it may have been covered with insulating feathers to help keep them warm.

The head is mostly brown but with a reddish tint behind the eyes. The coloration would have helped camouflage this young dinosaur and prevent predators from seeing it.
