NFL Week 2 Handicap Picks

Website design By BotEap.comWeek 2 of the NFL season is fast approaching and after our 8-6-2 ATS record in the opening week, we are now ready to hit the Week 2 lines to pick more winners for our readers. Here’s the first of some free picks for this week.

Website design By BotEap.com1. Carolina Panthers (-6.5) VS. Houston Texans: The Texans take a big step up in the competition when they travel to Carolina to face the Panthers 1-0. Carolina looked very impressive in winning on the road last week against the mighty St. Louis Rams. The Panthers completely shut down the Rams’ offense and used their 2005 Super Bowl runner-up plan of running the ball and shutting down the opposition’s running game.

Thinking that Schaub doesn’t have such an easy time throwing the ball against a very tough Panthers defense will send wingers Julius Peppers and Mike Rucker into a weak Texans O-Line all day. Stud DT Kris Jenkins is healthy and showed against St. Louis how effective he is at closing out the race when Steven Jackson lost twice and found very little natural light.

Website design By BotEap.comThink of what happens to Ahman Green and therefore the pressure will be on Schaub who will be under siege throughout the day. Count on one or two interceptions from Schaub and Carolina muster several sacks at the expense of Houston’s weak line. When the Panthers get the ball, expect a heavy dose of DeShaun Foster and DeAngelo Williams, who will once again set up Jake Delhomme for the game-action passes that worked so well against the Rams. The Panthers should be able to run a smallish Texan DL and Delhomme, once again, should be able to find favorite target Steve Smith down the middle for deep yardage. Houston has improved but this game will show that they still have work to do. THE TEAM: Carolina Panthers (-6.5)
