The family legacy is getting real to me now

Website design By BotEap.comAs my years progress into my seventies, I am now taking the word LEGACY seriously. What I think is more important is not the money or the land or those things, but the fact that I tried to reconnect with my wife, my daughters and my grandchildren. I admit to being a loner, a bit of a hermit. I am constantly looking for ways to escape from this prison I create for myself.

Website design By BotEap.comWhen my wife and I travel, we reconnect. We went to Hawaii for our honeymoon and it set a great pattern for us later on. Decades later, we always hope to ‘get out of town’ and escape the urban frenzy. Sometimes this is just a short one hour drive and sometimes it’s to the tropics. Everything is alright!

Website design By BotEap.comThen there are the three daughters to reconnect with. We are all close, but in different ways. A daughter plays the guitar. I’ve always played guitar, so this is a great way to reconnect if we’ve drifted apart a bit. My granddaughter, who is her daughter, has now learned to play the guitar, so now there is a good sense of legacy that warms my heart.

Website design By BotEap.comAnother daughter loves to talk about rock bands like U2 and Led Zeppelin. This is how we reconnect. We recently took her to an amazing concert starring Paul Simon and Sting. This was on her birthday and we could tell that she was really interested in music!

Website design By BotEap.comOur oldest daughter also loves music, but more like Abba and Supertramp. I love these bands too! My grandson, his son, plays the electric guitar. Cool! This daughter loves to eat fish and chips with her father from time to time. This is a very delicious way to reconnect, if you ask me.

Website design By BotEap.comIf I allow myself to become a hermit, I will become a hermit crab. This is what my inner child wisely says. I am trying to heed this warning and come out of my shell. Maybe soon I’ll try some social media or just stick to writing articles. Everything is helping me to emerge as a person. It also helps that he walks a lot on sunny days and plays a lot of guitar and mandolin. If I let myself, I might even try my hand at violin or double bass. I’m on a roll!
